The GROOVEMENT ASSEMBLY is a mobilization effort to bring together artists and community organizers for the PEOPLE'S MOVEMENT. We recruit volunteers to help with implementing new strategies to rebuild the Gulf Coast, lower Mississippi Delta, Southern Black Belt, and Central Appalachia communities.

We are a collective of individuals from multiple creative disciplines dedicated to working with our communities for social, economic, political, and cultural change. We use our skills, voice, hands, and eyes to promote positive non-violent change. We believe in the power of every person and the importanct of every voice in community change. We know that culture is transformative and has the potential to bring forth a new world.

Our mission is to eliminate poverty, hunger, and homelessness in the SOUTH. Our vision is to to achieve well-being for all families, so that their basic necessities of life are met. This includes having access to nutrious affordable food, safe and affordable food, safe and affordable housing, affordable comprehensive healthcare and a quality education for everyone.
